Running

 What do you run from?

 Heart hidden in the shadow
 of years-

 Masquerading
 time worn worries
 in your bones-

 How you feared
 they would break

  and you would no longer
  feel the sun take the
  chill of loneliness from
  your aching arms.

  1. Masquerading does wear thin after a while...if one cannot be who one really is.

  2. running gets quite old as well...and figuring out what you are running from...why you are wearing the masks...what it is you fear, do that and you are half way to an answer

  4. Hiding the feeling, truth, run from who you are - hard, takes lots of energy. To ask the question - already the step toward that understanding... ~ thoughtful poem, Lisa.

  6. Sad when we are that lonely Lisa - and sometimes, afraid, we make ourselves so.
