My Mother's Eyes
By
Lisa A.Williams
Blue communion-
of restless sea
and silent sky
an undertow of
illness
behind those stormy
eyes.
Stone between us
always-
dark catatonia,
kept you hidden,
Always I wonder
who you were,
always I wonder
what parts of me
are you?
This is so good. I feel the questions, the sadness...love how you have described it.
ReplyDeleteSpecially like the opening lines ~ So many things tumble out of that last verse ~
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSuch melancholy and longing...the words are so sad but the writing is beautiful..
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI understand this....the questioning of the relationship between the self and the mother. I think many of us have these kinds of thoughts...you verbalized them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, Mary.
