I've Got Half a Mind



I’ve got half a mind
to steal my life-

The part I gave away
to love
how it chained me,
captured heart-

Beating to another's
always bleeding
filling someone else's veins.   

I’ve got a half a mind
to take it back, it’s just
too late.

Once I gave it away
it will never find it’s
way home.

    ah we give away parts of ourselves so easily...something we carry from early in our lives...and once we give it away ther eis no getting back....

    A very tough rut to be in, indeed. Ah, but don't you know, with a little nurturing a heart can be regrown. Send the old away with the one that would smother it, and give yourself a chance to become whole once again.

    i like to believe that we always can seed and grow what we have to fruition ~ there are parts of us we gave away and can never take it back, true ~ perhaps better to let go of that part of ourselves, and make something new of us, once more ~ lovely writing ~
