Little Girl Blue

Little Girl Blue

In the field of
forever dreaming
she waited for the prince

who never came
just an ordinary man
with simple wishes

She starved in the shell
of his empty dreams.

Harvest came
her arms were empty
cold from the dying fire.

Little girl blue
aged with time
embraced each day

Hoping to find
the stillness shadows
could fill-

And still she waits
arms outstretched
reaching for all
she couldn’t find.
