The Well

The Well
By
Lisa A.Williams

The well-
so deep as I peered into the
fathoms of remembrance,
embraced in a turbulent tide
an undertow of need carrying
me to distant shores.

I released anchors,
rising to the surface,
bathed in the pureness
of being all I could be-

Realizing
I had been drowning in
waters of denial.

  10. Lovely introspective poem! Great metaphors--waters of denial, releasing the anchors. A feeling of freedom as you come back to the surface ... discovering the truth. Liked this very much, thanks for sharing :)
