I would like
to hold you
gently
without restraint
just let you be
breathe in and out of me-
Sustaining the beat
of hearts who discovered
each other when the night
left us empty enough
to fill the pure
space between us.
It would be nice to be held like that, "to fill the pure space between us". Loved this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sense of deep longing in this, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Poet Laundry and hope it is love.
DeleteMy comment disappeared! Such a desire is a magnet, a loving kindness to both parts in the equation, whether or not manifest. I think that breathing and sharing heart beats is like sign language, a pure presence. A wonderful discovery.
ReplyDeleteAny time we share a precious, kind moment with someone, I think it's love. Cherish it.
ReplyDeleteI think eventually you will know if it is love or not....
ReplyDeleteLove does dwell in "just let you be"...beautiful...
ReplyDeleteLove, it does come with a question, but what joy when it becomes yes. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteSuch an important feeling, that connection.
ReplyDeletebeautiful kind of love & loving ~

Love the word choices here and the emotions they evoke....'without restraint' and the idea of filling the empty spaces. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCertainly it is Lisa! Yes, it cannot be explained but only felt!

The space in-between is the definitely the most important place to know and trust someone else...wonderfully perceptive poem
ReplyDeleteLove also means giving each other space. Well said.
