Forest-
dark, thick with
rooted certainty-
echoes of an old song
reborn
At the mercy
of currents
in thoughtless motion
pushing
into the deep hard places
sharp with memory.
Limbs holding truth
bound to earth
giving breath
reaching to sky,
whispering leaves-
shedding secrets.
I so like this. Rich with thoughts as new as Spring itself.
ReplyDelete'limbs holding truth' is nice, like embracing promise.

ReplyDeleteIntriguing and powerful piece. The mystery and sense of permanence of the forest is a fitting metaphor for secrets. Well done.
