Dark Skin Dying
A miniscule of death,
on fair skin-
It warned of goodbyes
and defied denial
tiny cells
waging war-
Sometimes mortality
whispers in such small things.
Yes, I understand this, Lisa. Sometimes we DO experience mortality in the smallest of things. A strong write here, causing us to think about life....and death.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment Mary. I had melanoma a few years ago and never realized it could be fatal if not caught in time. I have to go every six months to be checked and each time it is stressful, so far so good.
