I’ve Been Away
By
Lisa A.Williams
I’ve been away for awhile, silent
holding in, waiting for the spark
to ignite the feeling slumbering in hot ash
born of an emotion I hold like a newborn
cradling its infancy, waiting to nurture its first cry.
Sometimes being away for a while helps, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe spark cannot stay away for long!
Welcome back :-) It's good to get away sometimes. Love the 'slumbering in hot ash' and 'waiting to nurture its first cry'. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh wow beautiful Lisa and I know exactly what you are talking about! I do the same thing
ReplyDeleteI know this feeling as well...nicely done. welcome back and thanks for stopping by...
ReplyDeleteThose times we retreat are so refreshing and renewing to our souls...this was lovely and I can totally relate. :)
ReplyDeleteevery thing has its time you know...and if we build that fire slow within...its gonna burn for a while to come...smiles.
ReplyDeleteAh I know this need and for me--the fear--that maybe nothing is left to say--time to renew--and just live rather than observe--
ReplyDeleteI think we need to go away, silent, to write our poems. I love your "born of an emotion I hold like a newborn."
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you back. I can relate!
